Brief Overview
The Systemic Inflammation Laboratory is a basic research unit within the Trauma Research Program (Director, Dr. S. R. Petersen) of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. It is also a part of the Neuroscience Research Center of the Barrow Neurological Institute. The laboratory was created as the Trauma Metabolic Laboratory in 1986. During 1986-1999, it was directed by Dr. M. Jeevanandam and focused on the metabolic consequences of trauma disease. Since December 1999, the laboratory is headed by Dr. A. A. Romanovsky, previously Director of Thermoregulation Laboratory at Clinical Research and Technology Center, Legacy Health System, in Portland, Oregon.
