SALIVARY GLAND TUMORS; CLINICAL AND PATHOLOGICAL FEATURES
ULTRASTRUCTURAL FEATURES OF DUCT CELLS
Slide 10
Each glandular cell adheres to its neighboring cells by desmosomes.
Each desmosome consists of an electron dense plate immediately underneath the plasma membrane (blue arrowheads) where tonofilaments converge (red arrowheads). The space between the plasma membranes, normally is 250 angstrom in width and is filled with electron dense material (browh arrowhead)
