DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS

  • Mixed tumor (presence of ducts, myxoid and chondroid areas)
  • Clear cell adenocarcinoma (infiltrative pattern and cellular atypia)
  • Nerve sheath tumor (lack of cytokeratin)
  • Fibrous histiocytoma (lack of cytokeratin)
  • Nodular fascitis (lack of cytokeratin)
  • Synovial sarcoma (nuclear abnormalities. Increase mitotic activity, infiltrative pattern)
  • Leiomyoma and leiomyosarcoma (lack of cytokeratin)
  • Hemangioperiocytoma (lack of cytokeratin)
  • Paraganglioma (lack of cytokeratin)
  • Metastatic renal cell carcinoma (absence of infiltrative pattern and nuclear abnormalities)
