PROLIFERATIVE ENDOMETRIUM

Previous Slide Slide 2 Next Slide
A main feature of proliferative phase is presence of mitotic figures in the endometrial glands.
Mitotic figures are present in the functionalis glands (top, left; arrow).
Mitotic figures are rare in the basalis glands (top, right).
During the proliferative phase, endometrial glands are Ki67+, HLAD-DR+, EMA-, VLA1- (right), and B72.3-. In contrast, during the secretory phase, the endometrial glands are Ki67-, HLAD-DR-, EMA+, VLA1+, and B72.3+
During the proliferative phase (bottom, left), the VLA-1 is only positive in the smooth muscle cuff around sprial arteries (bottom, right).
